Smithtown, New York— St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center will host its Annual Health Fair on Saturday, September 28th. The medical center will offer free health screenings, including free seasonal flu and combined Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccines. St. Catherine’s Director of Employee and Infection Prevention and Control Catherine Shannon stated, “Influenza Immunization is extremely vital and can be a life saving vaccine. You are not only protecting yourself but also those around you.”
In addition to the free screenings offered, there will be more than 70 booths for attendees to visit, gather information and speak to one-to-one with health care professionals. Attendees can also donate blood to help save up to three lives, in collaboration with Long Island Blood Services.
There will be plenty of activities for the children as well, so bring the entire family.
The medical center also invites community members to attend the official ribbon cutting of the completely renovated Maternity Department. The Maternity Department has undergone improvements to the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units, including new nursing stations and renovated birthing rooms. The enhancements will ensure privacy for new mothers and their families and further help the hospital’s dedicated staff provide family-centered services, resulting in the best possible outcomes for new babies. The ribbon cutting will take place the same day as the health fair, Saturday, September 28th at 11:00 am in the main lobby.
