Smithtown, NY 11787 - On September 13, 2012, St. Catherine of Siena Nursing & Rehabilitation Care Center held their annual Recognition Dinner at the Three Village Inn in Stonybrook. This dinner honors the volunteers who have donated over 500 hours for their dedication and commitment to St. Catherine of Siena. These special individuals were treated to a dinner, dancing and a chance to win fabulous raffle prizes which were donated by staff from the facility. It was a day of giving back to these wonderful, selfless, generous individuals who give of their time to the residents each day.
St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 5-star rated long-term care facility of choice in northwestern Suffolk County, and is well known in the health care community throughout Suffolk and Nassau for its excellence and for the dedication of its staff and volunteers. Services include: 120 beds providing long-term care for the senior and chronically-impaired population, a 40-bed secure unit for residents challenged by Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders, up to 80 beds for sub-acute care, including short-term orthopedic and medical rehabilitation, 24-hour nursing care, nutritional care planned by registered dieticians, licensed physical and occupational therapists, therapeutic recreation programs, geriatric social workers, pastoral care for residents of all faiths; and partnership with Good Shepherd Hospice to offer terminally-ill residents palliative care.
