The event was sponsored by Suffolk Anesthesiology Associates, PC, New York Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, Hunter EMS Ambulance, Nesconset Center for Nursing & Rehab, COSTCO and J. Kings Food Service Professionals.
The health fair, which was free and open to the public, offered free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, prostate, skin cancer and osteoporosis. In addition to the free screenings, 340 free flu shots and 116 T-daps, also known as whooping cough, were administered. There were more than 60 informational booths providing free health educational materials. Attendees were also invited tour the newly renovated Maternity Department and test-drive the new da Vinci® surgical system, and learn about the new minimally invasive robotic surgery program.
St. Catherine also collaborated with Long Island Blood Services where attendees could also donate blood at the fair.
New York State Assemblyman Michael J. Fitzpatrick, Suffolk County Legislature John M. Kennedy, Jr., New York State Senator John J. Flanagan and Smithtown Town Supervisor Patrick R. Vecchio, were all in attendance to show their support.
