Special Exhibit: “Shifting Reality Across Long Island”
At East End Arts’ 16th Annual Community Mosaic
Street Painting Festival: Sunday, May 27, 2012
(RIVERHEAD, NY, April 16, 2012) –– East End Arts is proud to announce that the Long Island Creative Vortex will be presenting a unique experience, ”Shifting Reality Across Long Island,” at the 16th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival, to be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Festival attendees will be invited to take part in the Long Island Creative Vortex’s traveling, participatory art exhibit, “Shifting Reality Across Long Island,” which will be in its fourteenth and second to last installment. This project is based on working collaboratively on and around a piece of artwork literally titled 'Reality’. Artists – really anyone and everyone! – will come together in the spirit of collaboration and creativity and change ‘Reality’ by painting it, to leave their mark on this piece of artwork that is constantly shifting and evolving. For more information about the “Shifting Reality Across Long Island”, visit http://www.facebook.com/pages/Long-Island-Creative-Vortex-Live/339193262758273.
This project is designed to pull artists and local musicians together in a collective, based on a centralized theme. The hope is that the ‘whole’ will promote growth, support, and in the end, help in gaining exposure for all Long Island artists. This specific event is about building the creative community while engaging and interacting with Long Island local community.
Local artist and musician Eric Hurnyak, one of the leads in the Long Island Creative Vortex collective, and creator of the “Shifting Reality Across Long Island” project is thrilled about presenting the piece at the 16th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival: “The artists of Long Island Creative Vortex are excited to be a part this event because the Community Mosaic & Shifting Reality Across Long Island coincide perfectly in bringing community together through a celebration of creativity.”
