(Port Jefferson Station, NY) — Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. will host its first annual “Kitten Shower” on May 18 and 19 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Light refreshments, games, tips and training techniques, and a meet and greet with the shelter’s kittens will take place in the new “nursery,” located at Save-A-Pet, 608 Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.
An online registry has been established so guests can pick out gifts for the shelter’s cats and kittens. In addition, Save-A-Pet is seeking monetary donations to help offset spaying and neutering costs and volunteers to assist with feeding and fostering the kittens until loving, permanent homes are found.
“This time of year, the number of kittens at Save-A-Pet increases exponentially,” said Save-A-Pet Founder/President Dori Scofield. “Of course, we hope to find loving, forever homes for all our pets, but until then, our kittens will need lots of TLC from our staff and volunteers, and gifts provided by our generous guests and donors.”
