On Friday, the TD Bank at 290 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre was subjected to a robbery. The crime took place around 2:15 in the afternoon, and the thief is still at large. Witnesses described the robber walking into the bank and taking a bank slip from the counter. He then wrote a note and approached the teller. Once there, he quietly handed it to the bank worker. The note stated that the robber was armed, and requested a specific amount of money. The victim took the money out and handed the sum to the robber, who then fled the bank. He was last seen running east on Merrick Rd. on foot.
Witnesses to the robbery describe the suspect as a black male standing at around 5’10”, weighing approximately 165 pounds and in his mid-50s. The middle aged man was wearing a blue hoodie and pants when he robbed the bank, along with a black scarf and a Toronto Bluejay BB cap. Authorities at the Nassau County Police Department Robbery Squad have been unable to locate and apprehend the perpetrator.
