BAY STREET THEATRE’S BIGGEST FUNDRAISER
ROCK THE DOCK! SUMMER BENEFIT BASH
RETURNS TO THE LONG WHARF
SATURDAY, JULY 21
June 8, 2012 (Sag Harbor, NY) – Bay Street Theatre is busy planning for the annual ROCK THE DOCK! SUMMER BENEFIT BASH on Saturday, July 21 with the amazing water view location on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor! Tickets are available online at www.baystreet.org or by calling Jessica Lemire at 631-725-0818 ext. 129.
The Summer Gala Benefit is Bay Street’s most important fundraising event of the year. Funds raised from the Gala support Bay Street’s yearlong programming including; the Summer Mainstage productions, as well as Educational Outreach Initiatives including Literature Live, Summer College Internships and Theatre Camps; and Classes for kids.
“Not only is it our biggest fundraiser of the year, but it is also the best party of the summer in my humble opinion,” says Murphy Davis, Artistic Director.
“What better way is there to help support the arts in our community and having a great time doing so,” says Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director.
The magical evening begins with cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres while temptations abound at the silent auction. Single tickets are available as well as tables for 10. The popular, more laid-back lounges are back again this year, but only a few remain for purchase. Both offer tapas dining. Music and entertainment are always part of the fun. A special live-performance by Tony Award Winner Lillias White, who stars as Maybelle Smith in the theatre’s upcoming World Premiere of BIG MAYBELLE: SOUL OF THE BLUES, is sure to bring down the house. Following the performance, the dance floor will burst with energy when the Hampton’s favorite D.J., Andrea Shapiro takes over. For those who hate to see the night end, there’s an ALL NEW after-party at B. Smith’s immediately following, where the dancing continues. This year we also see the return of the gift bag, with products from L’Oreal, Bai by Snapple, Gretchen Scott Designs, and many others.
Always a crowd favorite is the Live “Fantasy” Auction. This year another amazing week-long trip to St. Barts is on the auction block. Wimco Villas is providing one of their 3-bedroom luxury villas. Other items include a 5 day/4 night trip to the Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica, tickets to 3 of the hottest Broadway shows WITH backstage tours, a visit to NBC’s Today Show with a meet-and-greet with Kathie Lee and Hoda, several rounds of golf at THE BRIDGE golf course and much, much more. PLUS, new this year is Bay Street’s largest raffle ever--a 2012 Mini Cooper Convertible OR $18,000 in CASH! Raffle tickets are available now for $100 at the Box Office. Only 500 tickets will be sold.
Past attendees include: Alan Alda, Julie Andrews, Lauren Bacall, Alec Baldwin, Chris Bauer, Joy Behar, Mel Brooks, Kim Cattrall, Chevy Chase, Blythe Danner, Kelsey Grammer, Anne Jackson, Billy Joel, Star Jones, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Susan Lucci, Terrence McNally, Rosie O’Donnell, Mercedes Ruehl, Liev Schreiber, B. Smith, Eli Wallach, Naomi Watts and Robert Zimmerman.
