Those who have been curious as to how the new Bravo reality show Princesses: Long Island has fared now have some numbers to go by as the ratings have been released. 1.24 million viewers represents a mediocre amount. The show was largely marketed at the 18-49 age group, where the ratings were only 733,000. All in all, these ratings fall below the standard for a Bravo show fitting the reality profile. Real Housewives in New Jersey received 2.84 million viewers.
This does not necessarily mean that the show is doomed. If Princesses: Long Island had aired on another station and received that kind of viewership, those numbers would not necessarily be seen as negative. So there is still a chance for the show to pick up more viewers and survive. But being as the show was on Bravo and on Sunday night, higher ratings could have been expected. The performance of the show over the next few weeks will likely be critical in determining whether it will stay on the air or not. Princesses: Long Island follows the lives and relationships of six college-educated Jewish women who rely on their families to maintain their expensive lifestyles. The show has been the subject of some degree of notoriety and controversy on Long Island for its portrayal of the affluent.
