When the stresses of her corporate job got to be too much, Port Washington’s Rosalia Yarrington decided to get a massage…business. Rosalia and her husband Robert opened up their own Hand & Stone franchise in Port Washington at the end of 2012. The business got off to a rocky start due to problems caused by Hurricane Sandy, but is now starting to pick up. Hand & Stone is also hoping to continue to grow in the area, looking to add up to 10 locations in the Long Island area.
I’d love to get you in touch with Rosalia to talk about the decision to jump from the high-stress corporate world to her own Hand & Stone franchise. She can also touch on the problems caused by Hurricane Sandy that got things off to a tough start at the end of 2012.
I can also put you in touch with Long Island FranNet Consultant Ken Stein who can talk about what they do to help those in the corporate world make a smooth transition into franchise ownership and the trend of people leaving the corporate world to own their own business in a franchise system, rather than taking a risk on a start-up in this economy.
