Love to write poetry, but want to work on improving your art? The Long Island Authors and Writers Society will be presenting a poetry workshop on January 15th hosted by Matt Pasca and Terri Muuss. The event will take place at Barnes and Noble in Bay Shore. At the event, participants will be able to learn more about the elements of poetry, including figurative language and line and stanza breaks. They will be able to listen to poetry readings by both Pasca and Muuss. Both poets are Pushcart-nominees, well known for their books A Thousand Doors and Over Exposed. They regularly travel the Tri-State area, giving presentations and workshops to writers and poetry aficionados who want to enjoy the art of poetry and improve their own work.
Participants will have a chance to work on their own poetry, and to learn and share with one another and get personal advice from Pasca and Muuss. The Long Island Authors and Writers Society (LIAWS) hosts educational outreach programs for writers and poets throughout Long Island. This workshop is complimentary, open both to members of LIAWS and the general public. To attend, arrive at Barnes and Noble on Sunrise Highway at 7:00 pm. The workshop will run until 8:30 pm.
