Looking for something fun to do to celebrate the coming of fall? If you’re a pet owner, Nassau County has a great event for you. Nassau is hosting its third annual “Barkfest” on Saturday, the 27th of October. This fun gathering for pet owners is sponsored by Pet Supplies Plus LI, K98.3, and Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano. It’s the largest Halloween contest and parade for pets on the island, and begins at 12:00 noon and runs until 3:30 pm. If you wish to participate, you will want to come to Eisenhower Dog Run in East Meadow. Make sure that your pet is on a leash or in a carrier, and you must also have current vaccinations. You’ll be able to park in Eisenhower Park Field 7.
The event will take place whether there is rain or shine, and pets and their owners will have the chance to compete for prizes while listening to K98.3. “I thank sponsors Pet Supplies Plus Long Island and Long Island’s K98.3 for their generosity,” stated County Executive Edward Mangano. “For many of us, our pets are members of our family, and this is a great way to enjoy a nice afternoon together at one of our newest dog parks.”
