Long Island Expos this Weekend for Animal Lovers and Chocolate Lovers

People have their differences, but there are also a few things in life that many people have in common. These include the love for animals and chocolate.
If you are an animal lover or a chocolate lover, Long Island is the place to be this weekend. It will be featuring two expos that suit people of all ages.
- March 3-4: The Long Island Pet Expo will be open at the Suffolk Community College Expo Center in 1001 Crooked Hill Road in Brentwood. It will feature a dog show with Olympic style events, a reptile show for visitors to get up close to snakes, turtles, lizards, alligators and other reptiles, a bird program with a red tailed hawk, a great horned owl, and other birds, and animals such as pot-bellied pigs performing tricks, alpacas, farm animals and an exhibit where you can learn about how to set up and maintain an aquarium. The expo hours run between 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-11. Save on your admission by purchasing tickets online or sign up to be included on its mailing list to receive a $2 off coupon via email.
- March 4: The Chocolate World Expo will be hosted at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City. It will feature gourmet chocolates, baked goods, specialty foods, cheeses, gelato, wines and more. Get a tasting on all items and you can purchase your favorite delights on the spot. The expo will also have seminars where visitors can learn about how chocolate in born and how to pair chocolate with wine. Seminars are presented by Roxanne Browning, the owner of Exotic Chocolate Tasting. Some participating vendors include 5th Avenue Chocolatiere, Azure Chocolat, Barbara’s Confections, Bella’s Home-Baked Goods, Clovis Point Winery, Dutch Desserts, Fretzels by Jill, Gotta Eat Sweets, Just Buns, Pickle Licious, Rogue Confections, Screme Gelato Bars, Sweet N Salty by Design, Sweet Muse, The Chocolate Swirl, and Yona’s Gourmet Delights. The expo runs between 11am to 6pm. Tickets go for $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 2-12. Admission to the expo includes access to the Cradle of Aviation Museum exhibits and a free ride on Nunley’s Carousel.
