The Long Island Business News has announced the winner of their CFO of the Year Award. This year that award goes to East Quogue resident Dede Gotthelf. Ms. Gotthelf is the Southampton Inn, in Southampton Village. The award for top Long Island CFO is given to the businessperson who exemplifies the best in fiscal and asset management.
There are several categories involved for different awards. Gotthelf was chosen in the category of businesses whose revenue is less than $50 million. Along with her leadership qualities, Gotthelf was chosen for her community involvement and outstanding commitment to professionalism.
The Southampton Inn is a landmark in the Long Island and a treasured desitnation for hundreds of thousands of visitors. Since Gotthelf has been at the helm of the Southampton, the Inn boasts numbers such as 40,000 visitors a year, since 1998. In addition to her duties as CFO for the Inn, Gotthelf also serves on the board of the Hamptons Visitors Council, an alliance of chambers of commerce, and founded "It Takes a Village," a movement among Southampton businesses of all stripes to attract visitors to the area year round, even during tough economic times.
