September 5, 2012 – Over 150 of New York’s prestigious real estate professionals will come together for a day of golfing on Monday, September 10, 2012, for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) NY Real Estate Division Golf Outing. The event, which will take place at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury, will begin with golf in the morning and will conclude with a dinner presentation featuring IDF soldiers.
The Co-Chairs of the event are Joel Seiden, Jeffrey Mann and Ofer Yardeni, Chairman of the FIDF NY Real Estate Division.
“The FIDF plays a very important role in supporting the soldiers of Israel,” said Chairman of the FIDF NY Real Estate Division and Co-Chair of the event, Ofer Yardeni. “The Real Estate Division of the FIDF has built up a strong base of participation over the last few years and is committed to creating impactful events for the organization. The turnout expected at the first ever Golf Outing is another sign that the real estate industry in New York City is passionate about improving the lives of the Israeli soldiers.”
Active duty IDF soldiers, who traveled to New York from Israel, will attend the event and share their stories with FIDF supporters. The soldiers will include Cpt. Eliran Avnaim, a professional golfer who is also an operational officer for the 93rd Battalion (Kfir Brigade) and was a platoon commander in the Second Lebanon War; Cpl. Zev Simcha Grushka, who is originally from Long Island and made Aliyah to Israel to serve in the IDF where he is now a tank commander; and Cpl. Hadar Reisin Tzur, who is a Lone Soldier serving as a simulator instructor in the IDF. Also participating in the event will be IMPACT! Scholarship recipient Lia Naidorf, who served as a combat soldier in the canine unit in the IDF and today is studying physical education at Wingate University. Lia is a competitive bodybuilder who participates in competitions worldwide.
“It is a pleasure to work on such an inspiring event that will have over 150 participants, “said event Co-Chair, Jeffrey Mann. “We look forward to an incredible Golf Outing that will raise funds to support Israel’s soldiers.”
The FIDF NY Real Estate Division was started in 2006 by a group of successful business and philanthropic leaders who were passionate about uniting members of the real estate community in support of Israel’s soldiers. The division has supported several capital projects including a wellbeing center at Revaya Base for Battalion 71 of the 188thBridage, as well as other FIDF wellbeing programs to benefit the soldiers, and is an integral part of FIDF’s Tri-State Region.
