West Islip, NY 11795 – On June 21, 2013, Al Trost, a long time resident of Our Lady of Consolation celebrated his 90th birthday. Al was joined in this celebration by family, staff and friends he made over the years. Al keeps very busy and active by playing cards, doing trivia and enjoying the great food prepared for him, as well as participating in the Annual Golden Games, in which he has won many medals. Al grew up in Flushing and enlisted in the Army from October 1942 through December 1945. He later worked in the plumbing business, drove a cab and was employed by Commander Oil. When he married his first wife Marie, in 1947, they relocated to Copiague where they were blessed with seven children. Al’s family has now grown into 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
