“Unleash the power of age” (Administration on Aging - AoA) as the Eastern Long Island Hospital Senior Options and Solutions Program celebrates Older Americans Month during the month of May in cooperation with the Town of Southold Human Services and the Mental Health Association Suffolk County.
Eastern Long Island Hospital invites all local senior citizens to join us at the Southold Town Human Resource Center, located at 750 pacific Street, Mattituck, for special events that apply to older Americans. The following events are as scheduled:
5/15: 11:30am-12:15pm
5/17: 10:00am-12:00pm
5/22: 10:00am-2:00pm
5/24: 11:00am-12:00pm
5/29: 10:30am-1:00pm
“In 2010, 40 million people age 65 and over accounted for 13% of the total population in the United States. In 2030, the number and proportion of older Americans is expected to grow significantly to 72 million, representing nearly 20% of the population,” says the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
While Eastern Long Island Hospital provides the necessary services and quality care to older Americans year-round, this month is a perfect opportunity for the hospital to show special appreciation. To learn more about the activities and events scheduled above, call 631-298-4460.
