Non-Juried ORIGINS Art Show at EEA Gallery (March-April 2013)

(RIVERHEAD, NY, January 23, 2013) –– The East End Arts Gallery is pleased to announce a call for artist participation in the upcoming non-juried, all media Annual Members’ Show scheduled to open with a reception on Friday, March 15, 2013, from 5 PM to 7 PM. The theme of the show is Origins, and the show is open to all artists. This is a guaranteed opportunity to participate in a group show, with the only requirement being that all artists must be or become a member of East End Arts. The show will run from the opening on March 15 through April 19, 2013. The East End Arts Gallery is located at133 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY.

“A tree originates as a seedling… or an acorn,” says East End Arts Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood. “Rain starts as a cloud. An individual originates from ancestors who originated from different cultures or continents… or species. Bring your subject back to some sort of beginning… its origin.” East End Arts is accepting original works in all media, one entry per artist. Works can have a maximum dimension of 14 inches wide (including frame) and can measure vertically up to 65 inches high. All wall art must be wired for hanging. Artists are encouraged to enter their work for guaranteed participation in this non-juried show; only requirement is that artists can become a member of East End Arts at the time of drop-off. All media entries must be dropped off in person on Thursday, March 7, Friday, March 8, or Saturday, March 9 from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the East End Arts Gallery. For all size and entry requirements and details, view the full prospectus at http://eastendarts.org/Temp2013/DiversityProsp.pdf. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, March 15 from 5PM to 7PM, where guests will have an opportunity to meet the artists. This free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
