(Kings Park, NY) — On November 17, School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI), along with the New York Islanders, will present “SBPLI Family & Friends Night” at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. Game time is 7 p.m., when the Islanders face off against the defending Eastern Conference champions, the New Jersey Devils.
Both SBPLI and the Islanders want to show fans that science, engineering and technology can be just as fun as professional sports. Robots that competed in this year’s Long Island FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) will be on display throughout Nassau Coliseum for demonstrations. These robots were designed and built by high school robotics teams from Long Island.
Tickets are available for the special discounted prices of $52, $30 and $19. You must download the flier from www.sbpli.org in order to receive the discounted ticket price. A portion of the ticket sales will go to benefit SBPLI and its Long Island FIRST robotics tournament, which will be held in April at Hofstra University.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Check or money orders must be made out to SBPLI. Payments may be sent to: SBPLI, Attn.: Nick Amoruso, School Construction Consultants Inc., 190 Motor Parkway, Suite 201, Hauppauge, NY 11788. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.newyorkislanders.com/robots.
Payments must be made in advance and will not be accepted at the door. Any orders received within seven days of the game will be held at the Islanders’ “will call” window for pickup 60 minutes before the start of the game until the end of the first period. Tickets are subject to availability.
For more information, contact Nick Amoruso at (516) 790-0594. For more information on SBPLI or to make a donation, visit www.sbpli.org.
