(RIVERHEAD, NY, July 19, 2012) –– East End Arts is pleased to announce the exciting new art show at the Rosalie Dimon Gallery, at the Jamesport Manor Inn (located at 370 Manor Lane in Jamesport, NY) featuring East End Arts members: master printmaker Dan Welden and classical realist artist Elizabeth Malunowicz. The show opens on Friday, August 3 and will be up for viewing until October 31, 2012. Master printmaker Dan Welden is one of the original pioneers of safer alternative printmaking techniques. Since the early 1970’s, when he first developed Solarplate Printmaking and Water-Based Monotypes, he has been in the forefront of printmaking techniques, educating artists of all levels throughout the world. As co-author of Printmaking in the Sun, and Director of Hampton Editions, Ltd. in Sag Harbor, NY, he has collaborated with many artists including Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Eric Fischl and Dan Flavin. The recipient of numerous international printmaking grants extending from Belgium to New Zealand, his most recent grant enabled him to work in China. He was a juror for the international Printmaking Biennal in Aqui Terme, Italy in 2008. He exhibits with BCB Gallery in Hudson, NY. Welden’s works have been defined by his “playful line... dancing and meandering within the composition,” and his vibrant use of color. His home and studio are in Noyack, Long Island
Elizabeth Malunowicz works in the tradition of classical realism. Her education and training was at select private academies including the Long Island Academy of Fine Art and the Stevenson Academy. She believes a painting, be it a still life, portrait or landscape has subconscious power that can represent a range of ideas, emotions and contemplations. Elizabeth's award-winning work has been widely exhibited in many juried shows throughout Long Island, including the Islip Museum of Art and the Lyceum Gallery at Suffolk County Community College in Riverhead. Her work has also been permanently installed in the Ed and Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute at Southampton Hospital. Liz also recently received Best in Show for her entry in East End Arts Gallery’s National Juried Show. Elizabeth resides and works in Eastport, New York.
