Diner food typically offers a comfortable feel. It helps beat feelings of nostalgia.
If you’re looking for some place new to try, we have the diner for you. Highway Diner and Bar in East Hampton opened in late 2012. The diner is owned by Gunnar Myers.
Highway Diner and Bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from a modern and sophisticated dining room. There’s also a groovy vibe from its steel and quartz bar. Find on its menu a good variety of food, including Reuben Sandwich ($12), Buttermilk Pancakes ($8), Eggs Benedict ($12), New England Chowder ($6 a cup; $8 a bowl), Meatloaf ($16), floats, ice cream, milkshakes and much more.
If you’re looking for some place new on Long Island serving Greek food, we have that for you as well.
The Greek in Massapequa Park also opened in late 2012. The Greek offers house-made gyros. There’s also other great food, including Charred Octopus ($13), Chipotle Hummus ($7), Spinach Pie ($4), Eggplant Salad ($7), Avgolemono Soup ($5 for a pint; $9 for a quart), Pastitsio ($13), Pork Souvlaki (2 skewers for $12) and much more. The Greek has limited seating and primarily serves take-out.
