As the population of Long Island continues to shift with younger families moving away in pursuit of brighter dreams, their parents continue to stay behind. In the midst of this transition, there is a niche market emerging that one enterprising company seems to be finding quite lucrative.
Hamptons Baby Gear, a baby equipment rental company, has found its niche delivering baby gear to parents and grandparents of those who have left Long Island but still return to visit. Based out of Riverhead, and founded in 2009, has carved this niche out of seeing the need for those young families to have baby gear when they return. Of course, they do their best business in the summer months when the Hamptons is full of families in need of baby gear including cribs, jogging strollers, high chairs, beach wagons and other equipment, but they have found a market with those who have relocated from Long Island.
These young famlies who have moved out of Long Island come back to visit each year and will need equipment for their babies. Why carry all of that stuff with you when you can simply rent it while vacationing back home. Lisa Costa, who is the owner of Hamptons Baby Gear said;
“We love working with grandparents and other family members who have infants and toddlers visiting. Their patronage allows our business to survive year-round. For the cost-conscious visiting Long Island it’s a great way to save money, minimize luggage load and remain environmentally friendly."This enterprising company delivers the gear to their customers so that their vacation is worry and hassle free. They serve both Nassau and Suffolk counties in Long Island.
