The Independent Development Agency in Suffolk County recently hired a local art teacher for a $77,000 a year job. This marketing position was created in order to hire someone that could bring in some new perspectives in luring local companies away.
The teacher just happened to be the daughter of the Republican County Clerk Judith Pascale. She is the fiancée of Republican Assemblyman Dean Murray. While the hiring of Illardo may seem on the surface to be a sign of nepotism, all signs point to the hiring being purely based on the right person applying for the right job at the right time. Pascale pointed out that her daughter is a member of a different party and that the hiring was not politically motivated in any way.
