NESCONSET, NY – November 19, 2012 – It’s the sweet moment
we’ve been waiting for: the jaw-dropping new storefront location of
Fanny Cakes—Long Island’s couture confectioner using all-natural
ingredients to create mouthwatering morsels—will host a
ribbon-cutting ceremony open to the public at 12:00 pm on Monday,
November 26, 2012 at 127-10 Smithtown Boulevard Nesconset, NY 11767.
Light lunch and refreshments will be served to guests who gather in
this gorgeous venue. “You realize this is not a typical bakery the
minute you walk through the door,” says chef, owner and visionary
Kristyn Weiser. "My intention when designing Fanny Cakes was to create
a space that is upscale yet cozy and comfortable. I want my customers
and clients to come in and stay a while."
Boasting the reputation as a culinary cult classic to those enticed by
authentically baked goods, Fanny Cakes was founded by Ms. Weiser in
2010 who began her tutelage under her grandmother Fay “Fanny”
Mauro and pursued her passion by attending and graduating from the
Institute of Culinary Education for Pastry and Baking. “I wanted to
do things the way I thought they should be done, which means that
everything I put out is always fresh, looks fantastic and of course is
made from scratch," Weiser says. "I will always remain true to the
belief that starting with all-natural ingredients yields a quality
product."
Ms. Weiser caters to her customers by designing unforgettable
creations that are both dazzling and delicious. One of the most
popular cakes is her classic red velvet, though inventing new
concoctions is the cornerstone of her business. Consider the Blue
Hawaii--a coconut cupcake flavored with dark rum and Blue Curacao,
pineapple filling and frosted with Blue Curacao buttercream. Not to be
missed are the Champagne and the Cup-O-Joe. The former is a bubbly
champagne cupcake frosted with sweet champagne buttercream; the latter
is an intense mocha cupcake filled with chocolate espresso whipped
cream, frosted with Kahlua buttercream and topped with espresso powder
and a chocolate covered espresso bean. Eye-popping showstoppers
include a towering treat called the Topsy Turvy while craftsmanship is
evident in hand sculpted works of art including the Porsche Carrera,
Gulfstream 650 Jet, Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar and the
endearing custom-made 'shoe.’
