Artist Statement: Ruth Nasca
People are important to me. Creating my signature movie poster paintings, I found the individuality of the face was as important as the human figure. My drawing was my basic talent in high school. I furthered my education with a college art degree, including a scholarship to Yale. I have won many prestigious awards, including top prizes at the East End Arts Gallery’s recent exhibitions. My work is in the collection of Guild Hall, as well as in many private collections. I have had over 40 solo shows.
The Riverhead Town Hall art exhibits are a collaborative effort on the part of East End Arts and the Township of Riverhead to support local artists and introduce their works to the community.
