List of available housing in and around the Milford area
To assist the victims of Hurricane Sandy, the Milford Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is partnering with the City of Milford Transitional and Temporary Housing Task Force and compiling a list of rental properties.
Milford, CT, November 21, 2012 -In an effort to assist the victims of Hurricane Sandy to obtain housing options, the Milford Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is partnering with the City of Milford Transitional and Temporary Housing Task Force to develop a list of available housing in and around the Milford area. The Milford Chamber of Commerce is compiling a list of rental properties that can be turned over to those looking for housing. These can be either apartments or homes. This list will be posted on the City website and Chamber website. There will be no charge for this service.
Any real estate agency or private individual who has rental property available is urged to send their listing to Kathy Alagno chambercommunications@milfordct.com there is no charge for this service.
Information requested should include: Address, Number of Units, Number of Bedrooms, Number of Baths, Air conditioning, Stove, Refrigerator, Laundry, Pets Allowed, Rental Amount, Contact Person, Phone Number, and Comments.
Other resources are also available. FEMA is urging all affected by the storm including renters and home owners to register with FEMA at http://www.disasterassistance.gov/. or call 18800-621-FEMA. On the site in the lower right corner is a link to "Find rental properties" it will take you to a searchable location.
There is also information at the HUD search site: http://www.hud.gov/apps/section8/step2.cfm?state=CT%2CConnecticut. Or you can Google "HUD housing portal" , Once in the portal there is a section titled "Local Renting Information". Follow that link and make the appropriate search selections. When in the state area there will be a "Subsidized Apartment Search", that is where to search. The database contains both subsidized units and not.
