New York (December 2012) After an unparalleled collection effort by MetroStar Home Health Products employees in their post-Sandy relief Holiday Toy Drive, they will be arriving in Lindenhurst, NY to distribute new, wrapped gifts on Christmas Day to the children most affected by the aftermath of the super-storm.
MetroStar Home Health Products, a privately owned Home Health Products company, collected thousands of new, unwrapped toys since beginning their efforts on November 22nd and has been distributing those toys all month with its final distribution to the Lindenhurst children on December 25th at a communal Christmas dinner in Lindenhurst, NY- an area of Long Island most impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
On December 25th, Christmas Day, MetroStar will be joining the Lindenhurst Community at a communal Christmas Dinner hosted at the Rainbow Senior Center by Home for the Holidays, a family-run, non-profit organization founded by Pete Massagero and based out of Fayville, NY. The dinner will take place at 293 Buffalo Avenue in Lindenhurst from 12:30-3:30 PM. As a result of the extensive devastation in that area, this year much of the community is expected to gather together for a communal dinner, as many have not been able to return to their homes since the storm.
Just a few days prior to the holiday, Isaac Newman, MetroStar’s COO received a call from a distraught mother residing in Lindenhurst that had heard about their month-long Holiday Toy Drive. She informed him of the children who remain displaced from their homes, and mentioned the difficulty which they have been experiencing throughout the past few months. “I could hear the emotion in her voice as I spoke with her. She requested our help, and at that point I immediately knew what needed to happen.” stated Newman.
Located at 5359 Kings Highway, MetroStar stays committed to serving the community. They offer same or next day delivery on all medical equipment. To ease the financial burden, MetroStar accepts Medicare & Medicaid and is in network with over thirty HMO'S, Insurance Plans and Union Locals. All toys collected have been distributed in conjunction with many charitable organizations throughout New York.
