LONG ISLAND’S LATE NIGHT SUMMER CAMP CINEMA FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR EIGHTH SEASON
Brett Sherris’ Summer Camp Cinema Film Festival returns for its eighth year to the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, New York. Commencing on May 25th at 10:30 p.m. with a classic Arnold Schwarzenegger pairing of TERMINATOR 2: Judgment Day and TOTAL RECALL (1990), Summer Camp Cinema runs through August culminating with its greatly anticipated annual All Nite PAY-TO-GeT-OUT Horror Marathon on Saturday, August 24th, bringing the ultimate in late night, pop-culture cinematic programming to Long Island all summer long.
Brett Sherris’ programming for 2013 examines the pop-culture, cinematic dystopian view of the future of humankind. And, to add celebration and levity to the festival, it also includes Long Island’s Unconventional Conventionalists’ full out presentation of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Since the earliest days of cinema, filmmakers have allowed their frequently dystopic imaginations free reign - envisioning, predicting, and perhaps foretelling - what our collective future may hold. This year’s Summer Camp Cinema proudly exhibits seminal visions from renowned directors Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam, David Cronenberg, and Franklin J. Schaffner, to contemporary trendsetters James Cameron, Joss Whedon, Paul Verhoeven, and Alfonso Cuarón.
Join us for a summer of classic programming at the Summer Camp Cinema Film Festival, hosted by the Cinema Arts Centre, (Box Office 631-423-7611), 423 Park Avenue, Huntington, New York and leave your sanity at the door, but bring your imagination to your seat. Tickets for double-features are $9 for Cinema Arts Centre members and $13 for non-members. Check our websites for more information: SummerCampCinema.com and RockyHorrorFan.com.
