Stony Brook, N.Y., July 10, 2013 – Harmony Vineyards, Long Island’s first waterfront winery, is proud to offer a relaxing start to the weekend with yoga and wine on the harbor at 6:30pm every other Thursday, beginning July 11th.
Lead by a certified and experienced instructor, novices and yogis alike are invited to enjoy this event right outdoors in the vineyard, adjacent to the historic tasting room (weather permitting). The classes are priced at $36 per person (plus tax) and will include the one-hour yoga session followed by a wine flight of any three of the nine vintages.
“We hope that this event will provide a much needed escape that our guests are looking for,” says David Acker, owner, Harmony Vineyards. “There’s nothing like yoga, wine and the great outdoors to help relax the body and mind.”
Planted in 2002, Harmony Vineyards is Long Island’s first waterfront winery, 32.5 harbor-side acres only 70 minutes from Manhattan on scenic Stony Brook Harbor, the closest Long Island Winery to Manhattan. Formerly known as East Farm and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, its centerpiece is the lovingly restored 1690 farmhouse and the site for many intriguing events, from art shows and concerts to its weekly outdoor “Drink-In Movie” screenings. Harmony Vineyards produces some of the areas most praised wines, a full-bodied cassis-like cabernet sauvignon, mouth-filling chardonnay and a sultry Harmonious Red Blend, a hearty fusion of cabernet franc, merlot, and cabernet sauvignon.
