Pet enthusiasts on Long Island won’t want to miss out on the fourth annual Long Island Pet Expo, scheduled to take place at the Suffolk Community College Expo Center in Brentwood on March 1-3. A new event has been added to the schedule for March 1st, called “Family Night.” From 4 pm to 9 pm, families can bring their children to the event for free (fees for adult attendees still apply). Fun events scheduled for Family Night include dog shows with dancing dogs, trick performing dogs, Frisbee catching dogs and more. There will also be an exhibit of rainforest reptiles with an albino alligator. Children and their parents can get up close and personal with different critters at the petting zoo.
“We are so thankful to the Suffolk Community College for letting us expand,” stated show organizer Dennis Garetano. “This will be great savings for families that want to attend and get the full experience of the weekend show on Friday evening.” Attendees may not bring their own animals since there are expected to be more than 10,000 people present at the event along with their participating pets and it will be quite crowded. Along with entertainment, the show will feature a store for pet products and a pet adoption area so that homeless animals can find loving families.
