Long Island Game Farm Announces Naming Contest for Newly Arrived Red Kangaroo
Winner Receives Family Season Pass
(Manorville, NY) — In celebration of the new arrival of a young male red kangaroo, the Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo is having a contest for the cutest name for the Game Farm’s latest addition. Contestants can go to the Game Farm’s Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/LongIslandGameFarm) for a chance to win a family season pass plus a basket of goodies.
This friendly new kangaroo is one and a half years old. The red kangaroo is the largest mammal native to Australia and the largest surviving marsupial in the world. Known for their beautiful short, red coat and long, pointed ears, the red kangaroo’s legs work just like a rubber band. Males like the one at the Game Farm can leap over 30 feet in just one jump.
“This contest is a great way for our guests to interact with the park and get involved with our animals,” said Melinda Novak, Co-Owner, Long Island Game Farm. “Whenever an animal is named by one of our guests, it’s extra special for all of us.”
Several runner-up prizes will also be awarded. The deadline for submissions is July 15.
