The annual Long Island Cruizin’ For a Cure Car Show, which provides free screening for prostate cancer, will be returning on Sunday, September 8th. It is the only show on the East Coast to provide free screening and promote awareness of prostate cancer. Each year, the car show collects entry fees to donate to research facilities investigating a cure to prostate cancer. Last year, the event managed to raise $20,000, which was donated to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
If you would like to attend this year’s event, it will take place from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon at the Sears Auto Center parking lot in Hicksville. More than 600 vehicles will be shown off at the car show, including a Tesla Motors Model S electric luxury sedan, plus a ton of other classic cars and specialty vehicles. Over 3,500 attendees are expected. Admission for adults is $5 per person, and children are admitted for free. A Kids Fun Zone with a model race track makes the event fun for the whole family. DJs will provide music, a food court on the premises will offer lunch, and attendees will have a chance to participate in a 50/50 raffle.
