If you love adorable furry animals and you live on Long Island, you may be aware that this weekend, four baby otters were born in the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center. The otters, three males and one female, are the offspring of two otters named Peanut Butter and Jelly. If you’re excited about the new otters, you have the chance to pick a name for them on the aquarium’s Facebook page.
Most of the suggestions which have been submitted so far are condiment or sandwich related, which comes as no surprise, given that their parents’ names are Peanut Butter and Jelly. So far, users have submitted names like Nutella, Butter, Jam, Basil, Rye, and Cayenne. On April 14, Facebook users will also be given a chance to vote for the winning names. So get ready to submit your choice for the baby otters’ new names anytime between now and then, but don’t forget to check back on the aquarium’s FB page on April 14th so that you can vote for the winner. And of course, be sure to swing by the Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center in person so you can welcome these cute little creatures into the world.
