With all of the problems that the Long Island Power Authority has had since last October, they are in the process of again redefining who they are and what they do. With the recent hike in rates, they are once again under fire, but the company also wants to push ahead with other plans. They, or course, are first an electric company, but they also want to be an entity to help businesses on Long Island.
In that spirit, the LIPAinvites businesses to interact with industry professionals and energy experts who'll demonstrate how energy efficiency could save a business money and boost their bottom lines. This event is listed to be held on April 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hilton Long Island/Huntington.

With the many ways that the LIPA has taken a beating since Hurricane Sandy, it is nice to see that they are trying to do something to help businesses get things back in order. Hopefully it will help raise awareness of who they are and the steps they are taking to dig themselves out of this hole.
