Babylon, NY - June 5th, 2015 - Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey (R-Lindenhurst) recently had the opportunity to attend a very special charity race benefitting Patient Airlift Services (PALS), an organization which provides free air transportation to those in financial need seeking medical services.
The Urban Race is not your typical charity event (e.g., relays, marathons, etc.) as it combines various components of a race, a scavenger hunt, and a true test of local knowledge. The family-friendly event was orchestrated by PALS in concert with the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce. It was a great opportunity to not only support a very worthy and unique charity, but to also bring awareness to the vibrant and diverse Babylon Village business community.
“It was a lot of fun seeing all the excited participants in this year’s Urban Race,” said McCaffrey. “I was honored to wish them all a safe and enjoyable day and to commend them for helping our friends at PALS. This organization [PALS] is truly an unsung hero in the northeast region of the United States. The charity represents both the generous spirit of the community and good old-fashioned American ingenuity addressing a need.”
