Farmingdale, NY - April 28th, 2015 - On April 17, Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Clean Energy Leadership Task Force meeting at Molloy College Suffolk Center. The event was organized by the Clean Energy Leadership Task Force and Molloy College’s Sustainability Institute.
New York State Assemblyman Steve Englebright was the event’s featured speaker, and discussed his role as the new chair of the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Environmental Conservation. Legislator Anker serves on the Suffolk County Legislature’s Environment, Planning and Agriculture committee.
“I always look forward to working with groups that focuses on the issue of sustainability and clean energy,” said Legislator Anker. “Government needs to increase the awareness on how much money can be saved by using renewal energy. Residents need to understand it’s an investment and it may take time to see a return for the invested dollar. Suffolk County continues to provide leadership by spearheading many energy efficiency and renewal energy projects.”
The Clean Energy Leadership Task Force was established to provide Long Island municipalities with information on less polluting energy technologies and also to clarify the financial incentive programs.
