When you talk about a new Italian Restaurant opening up on Long Island you can be underwhelmed because of the great many of different Italian eateries in the communities. However, it is nice, at times, to see one come to Long Island that is different from the rest. This is exactly what La Notte, in Huntington, brings to the Italian restaurant scenery.
From its location in the heart of downtown Huntington, La Notte invites you in with its comforting look and incredible smells. As you sit down you will notice that this particular restaurant is a two-level eatery which has an intimate feel to it with its darkened interior, but it adds to the overall experience within.
The service is wonderful, and they easily stand out from the rest in the highly competitive market in the area. However, it is in the food itself, prepared by chef Joseph Cacace, that really makes you notice how wonderul, and well run, La Notte is.
One of the incredible meals that chef Cacace prepares, and I thoroughly enjoyed, is the Berkshire pork chop which is pan-roasted and paired with pan-roasted apples. Incredibly moist and the flavors combine together for a symphony of delight.
My favorite part of the evening was not just the food, but the conversations. Even though it seems like you may be cramped in the dining area, once you are there it doesn't feel that way. Add to that the fact that I could talk easily with my dinner companion and I was truly pleased with my evening at La Notte.
