This year’s juror is internationally known artist and photographer Christopher James whose paintings and alternative process images have been exhibited in galleries and museums in this country and abroad. His work has been published and shown extensively, including shows in The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The George Eastman House, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The second edition of his book, The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes has become universally recognized as the definitive text in the genre.
JoAnne Dumas of Wading River is an artist who works primarily with photographic images. She delights in capturing the fleeting drama that light creates on surfaces. Her current work blends her love for the clean waters of Long Island’s east end with her concern for their preservation.
Fort Salonga artist Lenny Stucker is a retired TV director from the NBC television network. He was with NBC for 26 years and was blessed to have won 10 Emmys during his career. His TV show called Lenny's Look (on East Hampton TV VVH) showcases his photos of celebrities and events held in the Hamptons.
Peter M. Lindstrom, resident of Brooklyn, NY, frequently employs multiple alternative and historic printing processes on a single image, to obtain just the right balance of texture and atmosphere in his work.
Kathy Leistner, of East Rockaway, NY, was a photographer at Purdue University, a photo editor for several national fitness magazines in CA, the first full time woman newspaper photographer for the Sarasota, Florida Herald-Tribune, and for the past nine years is free-lancer with a weekly L.I. newspaper. Her work centers on her connection to people and animals and experimenting with photographic processes that allows that theme to be presented.
Jeanette Rodriguez--Pineda is a photographer and mixed media artist living and working in Queens, NY. The production and exhibition of her work requires an intimate relationship between the integral aspects of alternative printing techniques and the artists' method. Jeannette has taught historic photographic processes at the Center for Photography at Woodstock.
William Grabowski of Huntington Station presents visual narratives (including 2D images and 3D forms) that relate autobiographical and fictitious stories of people, places, families, and cultures. His digital-based work arranges layers of images with different levels of transparency in a manner that blends individuals and settings.
