Mini-Health Fair to Take Place inside Village Hall
The Village of Islandia has announced that, due to its enormous popularity and success, the “Ye Olde Fashioned Tag Sale” is taking place for the second time this year on October 6 at the grounds of Village Hall, located at 1100 Old Nichols Road from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. All residents are once again being asked to clean out their garages, attics, basements and closets and bring down their unwanted items to be placed on sale.
On August 11, the village held its annual summer tag sale. It was a very successful event for the village with a large turnout of vendors and customers and, as a result, the village decided to hold the tag sale one more time this year.
Village residents will be on hand to sell items such as toys, books, clothes, lamps and assorted knick-knacks. There will be over 100 spaces available for a fee of $10 each for residents, $20 each for non-residents. These spaces are filling up fast, so please register as soon as possible.
In addition to the tag sale, there will be a mini-health fair inside Village Hall. Staff members from Walgreen’s in Islandia will be offering flu shots and blood pressure screenings which should be covered in full by most insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid. (Those who wish to be screened must have their insurance cards with them at the time of the screening.)
This is a rain-or-shine event. All are invited to come down, browse and make a purchase. For more information, or to register, call 631-348-1133, or visit www.newvillageofislandia.com.
