Who doesn’t like confectionary delights such as hand-crafted chocolates, truffles, caramel fudge, chocolate-coated apples and salt water taffy chews?! Fortunately for those visiting or who are local to Babylon Village, they have the option to visit Kilwins for such sweet delights.
Kilwins is the creator of signature treats such as Tuttles. While most Kilwins’ stores are located in Florida, the one located in Babylon Village is the first of its franchise store locations to appear on Long Island. The Kilwins in Babylon Village opened shop just earlier this year – in April.
Be sure to check it out, especially this time of year when it offers many fall theme treats. You may just find specials like pumpkin walnut fudge and pumpkin pie ice cream.
Moving north to Oyster Bay, you can find freshly made gourmet chocolates at The Chocolate Lady. Its delights pair well with its homemade made to order hot chocolate. While the shop is small in size, its chocolate creations are plentiful.
The Chocolate Lady offers a variety of dark, milk as well as white chocolate creations, including truffles and fruits. Its owner, Lee Perrota, comes up with exquisite confections, including favorites like the chocolate-blood-orange cordials, dark chocolate roasted hazelnut, shot-cup filled with peanut butter, rose garden cream and many more. Sculpted chocolates are also available. It accepts custom orders and can have orders shipped to locations, including outside of the U.S. like Thailand.
These two Long Island shops belong on your must-visit list if you’re looking for freshly made, handcrafted chocolates!
Come back each week for new features on entertainment, shopping and dining opportunities on Long Island.
