With the urgent calls for help along Long Island, Westy Self Storage is set to host a donation drive in order to help those victims that have been displaced, and lost everything due to Hurricane Sandy. The Hurricane landed upon the shores of Long Island 9 days ago and people are still needing immediate help with clothing, food, shelter, and other essentials.
In an effort to help with these essentials the Westy Self Storage centers in Long Island are designated drop off locations for donations. In addition to collection, Westy will also provide temporary storage for the donations and deliver them via Westy trucks with Family-to-Family, Inc. to the areas most affected by the storm.
Some of the items that Westy Self Storage, together with Family-to-Family, will be collecting are: pillows, pillow cases, blankets, mops, brooms, buckets, shovels, batteries, work gloves, winter gloves, contractor garbage bags, pails, crow bars, sledge hammers and storage bins.
They are asking everyone to join in this recovery effort as your donation will help disaster victims rebuild their lives and their communities. To help with dropping off these items, Westy Self Storage centers in Farmingdale, Hicksville and Lake Success are all designated drop off points for donations.
Westy is open for drop off 7 days a week. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Call 516-433-5500 or visit www.westy.com for directions.
