HUNTINGTON, NY - If it’s all about the Journey, then what is the Destination? For these five friends it might be Taos and Sante Fe, New Mexico, perhaps Paris, France, or even Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale. For many years now Vivian Hershfield, Virginia Edele, Grace Su, Nancy Fabrizio and Suzanne McVetty have journeyed together painting en plein air to beautiful sites around Long Island, New York City, and the globe. All members of the Nassau County Art League and the originators of the League’s Plein Air Painters group, they love experiencing the out-of-doors, expressing their individual taste in their choice of views, and enjoying the camaraderie of like minds and laughter, and a good lunch. (Have you tried eating in the Meat Packing District near the High Line Park yet?) Their work features a range of mediums from watercolor to oil paint to pastels.
The exhibit will open with a gallery reception on Friday, February 8th from 5:00-7:30pm (snow date February 15th) and will run through March 8th, 2013. For additional information about the exhibit and other Huntington Arts Council events, please visit www.huntingtonarts.org or contact the HAC at 631-271-8423.
