Good Samaritan Hospital Offers a Series of Free Health Information Lectures
West Islip, NY – Good Samaritan Hospital recently launched its new lecture series, “Good Sam University.” The format features monthly lectures in three categories: “Growing Pains,” offering information and insights on children’s health and parenting; “Women’s Wellness,” addressing women’s health issues; and “Aging Gracefully,” providing expert advice on topics related to health and wellness in the senior years. The program is sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, with additional support from media sponsor WALK FM.
Speakers include physicians and allied health professionals from Good Samaritan’s expert staff. These free community lectures are designed to educate the community, raise awareness and to help explain risk factors, methods of diagnosis and treatments. December lectures are:
Free Good Samaritan University Community Lecture: “Bone Up on Strength and Mobility”
It is never too early, nor too late to begin building and rebuilding bone strength! Many lifestyle factors are key to good bone health. You will see how lack of exercise, weight loss, certain medications and even stress and worry can damage bone. Most importantly, you will learn simple lifestyle modifications to reduce the impact of these bone-negative factors.
