West Islip, NY – On April 3, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center recognized a $1 million donation from Babylon resident Theresa Patnode Santmann to support a $5.6 million upgrade to its interventional cardiac services. When complete later this year, The Theresa Patnode Santmann Interventional Cardiology Center will offer three state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratories equipped with the latest in digital cardiovascular and interventional imaging systems. They will be capable of advanced examination and treatment of cardiac and vascular conditions. Good Samaritan is the first facility in New York State to install these advanced imaging technologies.
In honor of Ms. Santmann, The Hospital Foundation Chairman John J. Halleron, III, and his wife, Becky, hosted a reception at their home Brightwaters home. It was attended by hospital administrators, interventional cardiologists and Foundation Board members in honor of Ms. Santmann.
As a health care advocate, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Ms. Santmann has supported Good Samaritan Hospital with charitable gifts to fund pediatric care and trauma services. In addition to supporting the laboratories, her most recent donation will also fund an annual symposium focusing on the psychosocial and emotional issues that impact on health and well-being.
