West Islip, NY - In advance of blizzard conditions expected to affect Long Island from Friday evening through mid-day Saturday, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip has activated a weather emergency and taken steps to ensure that safe patient care will continue throughout the storm.
Staffing on Friday and Saturday will be as scheduled. In anticipation of hazardous travelling conditions during the height of the blizzard sleeping and meal accommodations will be available for staff members who elect to remain at the hospital overnight.
Good Samaritan’s outpatient Dialysis Centers in Lindenhurst and Bay Shore will be closed on Saturday, February 9. All patients scheduled for treatments on Saturday will be seen instead on Sunday, February 10 when the centers reopen. Outpatient imaging centers will be closed on Saturday and will reopen on Sunday. Outpatient physical therapy appointments have been cancelled for Saturday.
