West Islip, NY – Vinci S. Jones, MD, FACS, has joined Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center as pediatric surgeon and Chief of the Pediatric Surgery Division. Jones has more than 12 years of experience as a pediatric surgeon. His new role includes providing outpatient services at the Center for Pediatric Specialty Care located in Babylon and surgical services at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Prior to joining Good Samaritan, he held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and was Attending Pediatric Surgeon at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, which has consistently been ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the nation.
His expertise includes gastrointestinal, thoracic, neck, genitourinary and general pediatric surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery in children. Among his many accomplishments is innovative work in developing a training model for laparoscopy in babies and single incision surgery for children. In addition, he has presented in both national and international forums and published more than 20 papers in his field.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association and International Pediatric Endo Surgery Group. He resides in Melville.
