Good Samaritan Hospital recently hosted a Healthy Sunday program at St. John of God parish in Central Islip. Healthy Sundays is a community outreach program sponsored by Catholic Health Services to promote health and wellness through educational information and health screenings for the underserved. Volunteer staff administered flu vaccines and provided cholesterol/glucose screenings to more than 100 participants. In addition, through the generous donations of Al’s Angels, 50 families received bins of food for Thanksgiving. Al’s Angels mission is providing moments of joy and comfort to families that are challenged by childhood cancer and financial hardship.
