Long Island towns have many different restaurants and the competition can be quite heated. Nocturne in Babylon is one restaurant that has been competing very well with others in their town. This attractive restaurant with great food and staff is owned by Mark and Suzanne Hrisho and their son, Mark.
The chef that sends out stylish dishes from an American-French menu is the elder Mr. Hrisho and his wife is the face of the restaurant in the front of the house. Mr. Hrisho attended the French Culinary Institute and worked there for three and a half years after graduating, working as one of their restaurant chefs.
One of the best things is that as soon as you are seated that you receive an amuse-bouche. It varies from night to night, but some of the favorites are the house-made potato chip topped with salmon mousse and caviar and the bite site croquet monsieur sandwich with picked celery and a smear of grainy mustard. You never know what little bite that you are going to get.
When you get ready to order, you will find a great number of choices. From the $14 burger with melted Gruyere, sherry-spiked sautéed mushrooms, lettuce and tomato, on a brioche bun to the $32 prixe fixe three-course meal that you can choose from three appetizers, five entrees and three desserts, you will find something that will call to you and to your tummy. Deliciousness can be found at Nocturne.
Nocturne offers a simple and stylish dining room with cloth covered tables and white bistro paper. Fresh flowers, votive candles, and cloth napkins top off the stylishly decorated tables. From start to finish, Nocturne is a restaurant that you definitely want to check out. Whether you are looking for lighter fare, dessert, or a full three-course meal, you will find what you want at Nocturne in Babylon.
