Going to the museum does not come cheap these days. When you have a family, the cost of admission can rack up and then there are the high parking fees if you drive your car there. Fortunately, you can get a break this weekend!

Smithsonian magazine is hosting Museum Day Live!, an annual event where participating museums across the country are offering tickets for free admission on Saturday, Sept. 29. There are quite a number of museums located on Long Island that are participating, including Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, Cradle of Aviation Museum, Guild Hall of East Hampton, Northport Historical Society Museum, Oyster Bay Historical Society, Polish American Museum, The Heckscher Museum of Art and others. Go to Smithsonian magazine’s website to claim your ticket. It will be sent to you via e-mail for print.
