Third Thursdays Series at Brecknock Hall, Presented by East End Arts
August 16: Sculptures & Sculptors
Featuring Renowned Sculptors Steve Zaluski & Robert Strimban
(RIVERHEAD, NY, August 9, 2012) – East End Arts is pleased to announce August’s installment of the Third Thursdays Arts-in-Community Series at Brecknock Hall, located at One Brecknock Road, Greenport, to be held on Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 PM. “Sculptures & Sculptors” will feature renowned sculptors Steve Zaluski and Robert Strimban, whose artwork is showcased in The Outdoor Living Gallery, a sculpture garden on the grounds of Brecknock Hall. At this art talk, Zaluski and Strimban will discuss their work and process. Steve Zaluski is an international artist who creates paintings,mobiles, sculptures, music, performance art installations and videos all around the world. Robert Strimban is a contemporary artist who notes that his greatest influence is nature and the essence of his work is the relationship of form and color. This FREE event is open to the public.
Introduced in 2010 as a collaboration between East End Arts and Peconic Landing, the Outdoor Living Gallery’s 2012 season marks the sculpture garden as a permanent installation on the grounds of Brecknock Hall, open from July 14 through October 28, 2012. This is the area’s first permanent sculpture exhibition showcasing high-quality works by local and national sculptors that best complement and enhance this unique building and surrounding landscape.
The East End Arts School is very pleased to present this series of Arts-in-Community forums and presentations on the third Thursday of every month, at the magnificent and historic Brecknock Hall in Greenport (One Brecknock Road). A similar series is held the First Friday of each month at East End Arts’ main campus on East Main Street in Riverhead, NY.
