An East End Arts Gallery Show
Opening Reception: Friday, April 27, 5-7PM
(RIVERHEAD, NY, April 9, 2012) –– The East End Arts Gallery is pleased to announce the opening reception for the upcoming juried, all media art show, La Morte, (Italian for “death”) at the East End Arts’ Gallery on Friday, April 27, from 5PM to 7PM. Guest juror April Gornik, internationally renowned landscape artist, will select works that she feels offer original and personal insight into what the reality and/or concept of death means to the artist. The opening reception is a free event, open to the public; refreshments will be served. The show will run from the opening through June 1, 2012. The East End Arts Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY.
J.K. Rowling said it best: “After all… death is but the next great adventure.” East End Arts’ Gallery will be accepting original works in all media on April 19 through April 21 at the East End Arts Gallery. The “Best in Show” winner of La Morte will be one of several artists who will participate in the East End Arts Gallery’s Winners’ Show in the Fall of 2013. First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mentions will also be awarded.
“Metaphysical May”, a series of paranormal opportunities, workshops and events will be held in conjunction with the La Morte Art Show. Events and workshops will be announced shortly. Exhibiting concurrently with La Morte is the Suffolk County Historical Society’s exhibition entitled Death Becomes Her, which will feature death and mourning memorabilia. The Opening Reception of Death Becomes Her will also be held on Friday, April 27, from 6PM to 8PM at the Suffolk County Historical Society, located at 300 West Main Street in Riverhead.
